Great book. I bought it about 18 months ago and still find myself returning to it from time to time.

BTW, I noticed you had the new White Stripes. Great stuff, huh?

It bothers me that so often we seem to be more caught up in labels (such as denominations, "I follow Paul. I follow Apollos." whose list of beliefs I choose to check off on) than simply following God. I think we find security in lists of rules and parameters to live by. Definitely something I struggle with... just a thought.

I would certainly classify myself a "catholic" Christian. I am not Roman catholic, but catholic nevertherless. I find my undertsanding of God, and Jesus for that matter, through a catholic understanding of the faith seems to resonate in my soul. Like you, the more I read, the more I think the Reformation in many ways missed the boat big time.

Catholic spirituality is beautiful and for me certainly much deeper than other forms. I find what many folks in the emerging church are seeking is a more catholic and sacramental understanding to the faith but don't know it because they do not have the language or context to express it.

Thanks again for this post.
