Sorry to hear that. Losing a church that you love is rough. I too have been there. But I'm excited for your opportunities at the new church. Good luck with everything.

Thanks for being willing to follow the journey whereever it takes you and not cling to what you have just because you don't want to let go. I look forward to continuing to read about your joys and sorrows in this next phase.

Look up Mike Skon at Sa'kred and say hi for me. He's one of our former students in AZ, and a great guy. You should be able to figure out who he is pretty quickly...he only has one leg.

Glad to hear things are transitioning well. Mike, blessings to you and your family for the sacrifices that you've made for the kingdom of God. Don't lose the passion.

Mike, I'm sorry to hear this and pray that there will be much life for you in ministry after this death. I really am going to call you this week, bro.

Thanks for sharing. I was so hoping to visit you all at SCU this summer. Maybe we can run into one another anyway.

Mike - our journey has been shorter than maybe the rest but I've enjoyed working a long side you at SCU. It's been an amazing journey for me this past 12 months. I come away from this ruined as well. Just like you were talking about the things in your head coming to life... I can't ever go back now. You know the coolest thing about SCU - everything it set out to accomplish, it accomplished. I don't feel like anything is left undone. I don't feel like we failed. We just did what we needed to do and God opened the doors that needed to be opened for this very moment right here. Hey and you know what - it's not normal to find a pastor that is willing to sit back and let someone play AC/DC, Metalica and Black Sabbath covers before church starts! That's gotta be worth something! I'm not ready for anything less. Let's keep it up bro.

There's a blood red circle
On the cold dark ground
And the rain is falling down
The church doors blown open
I can hear the organs song
But the congregations gone

My city of ruins
My city of ruins

Now the sweet veils of mercy
Drift through the evening trees
Young men on the corner
Like scattered leaves
The boarded up windows
The hustlers and thieves
While my brothers down on his knees

My city of ruins
My city of ruins

Come on rise up!
Come on rise up!

Now there's tears on the pillow
Darling where we slept
And you took my heart when you left
Without your sweet kiss
My soul is lost, my friend
Now tell me how do I begin again?

My citys in ruins
My citys in ruins

Now with these hands
I pray Lord
With these hands
For the strength Lord
With these hands
For the faith Lord
With these hands
I pray Lord
With these hands
For the strength Lord
With these hands
For the faith Lord
With these hands

Come on rise up!
Come on rise up!
Rise up

Mike - My heart hurts for you and your family as I know how hard the death of something loved and cherished is. I will be praying for all of you.

yo bro,

I'm so praying for you...I KNOW the feeling of closing a church. Anyhow, I pray God will direct you and your family.

Peace & Love

I am so sad and happy for you. I am happy that you've come through this with the patience and humility that you have. too many people would be more inclined to cling tightly to their church to the point that they let go of God's plan. You are a great example to us.

I pray that this experience will give you freedom and peace above all.

Thanks for your honesty and for letting us share your journey from far away (thru this blog). May God be even more present to you and your family during this time of transition.

You and Jamie will be in our prayers, as will the Sa'kred community. I'm sure blessings are in store for you both on this new journey. God bless, my friend.

You, Jamie, your family, your community are in my prayers. I pray that your diligence in the Lord will find you many blessings!! Miss you and hope to hear an update soon!

Hey buddy, sorry I've been in the dark for the past while here. The arrival of Hannah has caught me in quite a whirlwind...a delightful one, might I add. Anyway, I must say that I'm sad and excited for you at the same time. I know of the heartache you were experiencing as a result of the unknowns of SCU. I see by your post that you are aware that even good things must come to an end. And I think you needed that closure. I'm excited to catch up with you soon and hear about your new venture. Peace brother.
